Hi MJW, Regarding your question about the foundations' materials - If your intend to differentiate the materials just from the visual point of view, you can use a wainscot (or a base trim) and texture it with the foundation material--> Liveview--> Trim--> wainscot--> Preview bar--> choose 36"or 42", etc--> apply on the wall--> texture
- If your question is related with the real materials, you need to stack two walls (one for the foundation and the second for the framed wall)
Then go to the Framing Editor Power Tool and set the materials and properties for each wall. These materials and properties will appear in the BOM generated with the Estimator Power Tool Patricia |

I was more concerned with being able to elevate my porches and porch steps since as I have it currently, the steps are even with the ground level and the top of the handrails are about 2 feet higher than the handrails themselves? We are adding on to an existing house with an existing foundation that is about 6 ft tall on the left side and about 4 ft tall on the right, and need to be able to make those adjustments to the foundation so I can add the porches at the correct height. Thanks for your help so far.

Thanks for your help. I didn't quite get it at first, but after reading on how to do dormer windows, I was able to figure it out more.

I have an 8:12 gable roof and am trying to get the soffits to work correctly. When I try to put them into the plan by clicking on the wall section and bringing up the menu on the right side (ceilings/floors) and put in the sizes on the soffits section, it puts soffits, but they are straight across the side of the house at the 8 ft roof line instead of following the gable ends into the triangle. What do I do to make the soffits follow the gables incline up into the triangle? Also, once the soffits are added, does the roof line have to be lined up to the end of the soffits or what? You can tell... I'm a beginner.... but I love this stuff!!! Thanks for anyone's help. Mary

Hi Mary, In this case, the soffit is the bottom of the roof. You can texture it according with your preferences Patricia |
