Hi Johnny Mac,
In Punch (main program), a wall is just a wall, without additional details Now, if you set the studs or blocks or other elements in the Framing Editor Power Tool, the walls will be related with this tool setting--> for example--> if you are using blocks with 8" in the Framing Editor and you are drawing a wall with 8" in the main program, this means that the brick veneer is not included in the walls of the main program Notice that the selections / settings used in the Framing Editor Power Tool will appear in the Estimator Power Tool

Thanks Patricia,
If I understand you correctly, The thickness is for the studs. By the way you have a good name. That's my wife's name. We are newely weds. We've only been married 49 years, LOL.

Hi Johnny Mac
You're welcome! (and say hi to your Patricia!) :-)
Nope, what I meant is that you define what the thickness symbolize--> in the example above--> if you are using blocks with 6" in the Framing Editor and you are drawing the walls with 6" in the main program, this means that the brick veneer is not included in the walls of the main program. But if you are using blocks with 6" in the Framing Editor and you are drawing a wall with 7" in the main program, this means that yes, the brick veneer is included in the walls of the main program (6" of the block + 1"for the veneer= 7") In other words, in the main program, the walls are just "boxes" without any special reference of the type wall or what the thickness means. You can define the thickness parameters and inclusions according with your own convenience
Let me know if you need additional help

Now I'm confused. Give me two examples please.
1. 2x4 stud walls with 1" siding.
2. 2x4 stud walls with brick.
What would I specify for each type of wall in the main program and what would I specify for each type in the frame editor?

Hi Johnny Mac,
The walls in the main program are empty boxes,so you decide what the thickness mean. You can set different and not related thickness in the main program and in the framing editor
