This is how I'd do this: go to the Detail tab --> try to recreate the wall segments with lines and / or curves--> select --> Convert to --> wall / retaining wall --> set thickness, height, shape, etc
You can use the same procedure for walkways, stairs, etc
Don't forget to set the elevation as Edit--> "Float Object Above Topography"

The retaining walls are just walls, without any special property, they don't "stop" the topo, as in real life. Model the topography to create the effect and / or use Building pads (for the patio) and / or use the Excavation Tool
