When I import a DWG or DXF file and try to convert it to punch walls etc I get an error after a few walls and the import screen closes down. The message is "DXFIN has encountered a problem and needs to close." I can move the DXF to the design screen and trace over it, but I can not convert it. Does anyone have a fix for this situation?

Hi Paul Williams,
This problem appears when the file you imported is not "clean", and some points or small lines act like bugs, impeding the conversion
Make the following test: draw lots of lines, polygons, etc in the Detail Tab--> Convert to--> Exterior walls (for example). You will confirm that the program works OK and the problem is in the file you're importing
My suggestion: clean the CAD file first and then export it to Punch. In Autocad, you can use the Purge feature.
If you wish, send me your CAD file and I will check the problem or let us know if you need further assistance

I have just found out that I can't mask a photo in this program. Is there anyone that can tell me how to do this in Adobe? The adobe manual doesn't help me. :-( I don't understand it.

Hi Linda, With Adobe what? Photoshop? Photodeluxe? Elements? I have several and they use different systems for masking (with or without layers) Anyway, I guess you will find the right answer with the Adobe support / forums http://www.adobe.com/support/main.htmlHope this helps Patricia |

I am drawing a plan for animals. I need drains for washing the pens. I looked in the object center, but couldn't find one.

I understand that you use the floor to make a ceiling, but how do I make a cathedral ceiling? I was looking at your tutorial (Puncher's support site) and trying it to no avail....then I saw that it doesn't work in Pro v8. :-( So, what do I do?
Also the shape that you would put a ceiling fan into. I don't know what you call it, but it is a recessed area in a multi-sided shape.

Well, I just went to this one; http://www.punch-alterna...?photo=1031&cat=1076
and I got this; http://search.biz.tm/? :-0
I never had problems with the old system. I'll try to be patient, but I don't understand why you aren't having problems with it. I even turned off my fire wall. It didn't make any differance. I hope this is fixed. I just love all of the great objects that I can't make myself. You guys are a great bunch.

The error I was referring to was from my download accelerator.

I don't know what is going on. I can go to other sites and download. I emptied my cookies and I did a disk cleanup and it still won't work. It doesn't download at all. It stops and gives these messages that I told you about. The accelerator has a zip access. I clicked on that and I have to have a "not free" one, but is showes the 3 files that I need to download. ??? Weird...

Well, ....the problem was Netscape. I went to IE and it works fine. Why would it make a difference? Can any of you tell me how to set a default for a download manager? I've done it before, but now I've gone blank.

I suspect you are right about the settings, I just don't know how to fix it.
Now, new question. I want to use some of the real neat textures, such as the glass wall. How do I change the files so that they work? Don't I have to change one of them to a bmp?

Hi Linda, Check these directions (developed by RB) about texture's replacement http://www.punchhelpers.com/rb_resources.htmlAnyway, if you look in the Materials category--> Materials--> Blocks--> the 4th texture is Glass Block 18" Let us know if you need additional help Patricia |

How do you create real architectural framing plans with section views, complete for submission to the city planner? Is this program exclusively for 3d visiualization purposes??
