Hi Wlliam Freshour,

Yes, it is possible. You can use the framing editor to create your framing plans. The section views you can create using the CAD tools

What do I need to do to get the windows and doors on the second floor to show. I have placed them and they are clearly there in the plan format but the Live View doesn't show them? Richard Hill

This has happened to me sometimes when I have inadvertently placed double walls (i.e., when I have two walls on top of each other). In this case, the window sits in the wall that is on top (in the floor plan), but second wall keeps the window from showing up in the 3-D view.

Hi, been using Super Home Suite for awhile and have gotten used to it's easy interface. Just purchased Pro Platinum V8 and I'm finding the software quite demanding...especially in designing roofs! Can't seem to get them looking correct at all anymore!? Seems you have to plug in all the dimensions now where Super Home Suite did them automatically. I was hoping I could work a bit faster and also have some new features...am I out of luck??

Hi. I am a converted "Floorplan 3D" user and have since bought Punch! Platinum Suite 8, but have been very disappointed with the programs flexability when it comes to Liveview in comparison with the aforementioned program. Tilting of camera is impossible and the Liveview controls are almost impossible to control (zooming etc). I would also like to get on my "soap box" and ask wether a patch will be incorporated/built in to an update for the placing of cabinets. In FloorPlan 3D the cabinets can be placed and then dragged to insert a "line" of neatly aligned cupboards, instead of having to copy and paste and then align each cabinet individually. Otherwise, very happy with the program so far. Regards
Ronnie Hayes
(South Africa)

I have Platinum V8. My builder sent me a .dwg file which I've tried to import, but the file looks very disjointed and is difficult to see what to convert to Punch. Is this normal? Is there a preference as to which format I should get from the builder (.dwg or .dxf)? I'm pretty new to this.

Hi M.Forte,

Yes, this is the way you should see the lines, and there is a reason for this. You must select each line separately and convert it in a Punch entity, as a wall for example or a fence or, etc

In my opinion DWG is better than DXF, because you will import a small file (I mean small in Mb) so you'll work faster

Let us know if you need additional help
