Ok, so how would you go about building your wall to look like this: /\ <br> | Sorry about the text image, but I don't have a link. As you can see, the wall would have to be built like this in order to have my roof connect appropriatly since I want the roof line to pitch up on both sides from left to right and right to left. Maybe I shouldn't be using a wall break tool at all, which is why I can't place a garage door in the center?

Hi Brian Putch,

I guess you wish to build a wall + gable, using a different width for the gable as the picture attached, right?

You don't need a wall break to do this. Just stack two walls. The lower wall is a a rectangle and the upper wall is the gable. I used the second icon (wall style) and I set the wall pitches following the roof pitches

Hope this helps

That's exactly what I was looking for!! I can usually think these problems through, but I was blindfolded on this one. Thanks again!

I've tried to use the wall break tool, with no success. I draw the wall break lines along the walls I want it on, but the materials (like flooring) still goes all through the house. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks, jrk

Hi jrk,

The wall beak tool breaks...just walls! So you can divide a wall in two (for example) and texture each part with a different material (or color)

For the floors, you must develop a custom floor for each room using the floor tool (located in the Floor tab, second icon starting from the right)--> elevate the floor (it must be over the Autofloor)--> texture as desired

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help. I'm new at this. I've had the program for awhile, but am just now getting into it. Would you happen to know anything about porches? I'd built a porch using the deck tool. Got it all finished and it looked good. The only trouble was my front door was lined up with the porch and 12" to high on the inside of the house. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi jrk,

You wrote "The only trouble was my front door was lined up with the porch and 12" to high on the inside of the house"--> Do you mean that there is a difference of 12" between the porch and the interior door?
Notice that the initial height of the deck in Punch is 24" (meaning the height when you start the deck tool), and these 24" are from the bottom of the deck. So, if the interior floor is @ 36", for example, and you wish the same level interior / exterior (not recommended from the constructive point of view) you should elevate the deck to 12", so the elevation of 12"+ the deck of 24"= 36"
Or, if you prefer, change the deck's height and elevation, remembering that: deck's elevation + deck's height= level of the floor (interior in this case)
Other tip: if you used Autofloor= 12"; remember to consider this in your calculations

Let us know if you need additional help
