I'm having a problem with Custom Workshop. I suppose somebody would say my mind ain't right, but I can't seem to grasp it.
I'm trying to make a ring shape, a shape like something you'd wear on a finger.
The circle, I got. I can turn it into a cylinder, no problem. Get the diameter where I want it, got that. But the, um, "thickness" of it, changing the inside vs. outside diameters, that part I don't get how to change.
I also don't get the rounding-over. Suppose you're looking at a ring from its side, so you're seeing its thinnest dimension. It should look like a rectangle, but with rounded corners. then when you rotate it you see that it's a ring. If you were looking at a cylinder from the site, it would just look like a rectangle. Hopefully I'm explaining this comprehensibly.
Can anybody give me a pointer here? I think I'm missing something fundamental.

Hi bagby
say it is an 8" interior diameter ring with a circle shape section = 2"
In the 3D workshop--> 2D--> back grid--> create a 2D circle with diameter= 2" --> Go to 3D--> select the circle--> Edit--> Revolve--> settings--> 360°--> radius 4" (this is 8" divided by 2)--> in this way, you'll have a torus volume
