Hi subkron,
You can customize the hide / show tabs features
Suppose you're working on the floor tab--> draw a floor--> Click on the floor--> Edit--> Move to plan--> Plumbing (for example)
Again in the Floor tab, (or electrical, etc), you will see a small black arrow at the right of the name. By clicking the small arrow you have the option of viewing or hiding other tabs. Just check the names of the tabs you wish to show. (see the image attached).
therefore, if you uncheck the plumbing tab, the floor will not be visible in the floor tab.
In addition, you can hide the floor tab elements in the deck tab, for example, as well as the landscape tab, roofing tab, and the detail tab
The walls can be moved only to the landscape tab, but you can't hide these walls
(All these settings are for V8 versions and may be different for other Punch versions)

What you indicated was they way it is supposed to work - I did all that. But the problem is that even though I uncheck floor plan from another tab it does NOT go away. Like I indicated, it remains on a number of tabs. It used to work fine until I did some "Move to plan" actions.
It definitely seems like a bug - I can send the plan if anyone wants to figure it out.

Hi subkron,
What you call "a bug" is simply the way it works for a number of reasons
As I stated in my post, you can hide the walls in some tabs and you can't in other tabs
In Punch Platinum V8, for example, you can hide the walls in the deck tab because makes sense a deck without a wall, however, you can't hide the walls in the Electrical tab or the Plumbing tab, for example, because both tabs have fixtures attached to the walls, therefore you can't insert an electrical switch without a wall to attach it
As you can see, there are real reasons for the hide / show feature

Now I understand the logic but disagree with the implementation.
There are instances where I still would like to be able to toggle ON/OFF each layer to check my layouts for the electrical/plumbing/etc details. I realize they would be hanging in space, but it provides an overview of the object placements without the floor plan causing visual obstruction. In addition, it would be consistent with what you could expect - letting the user decide for every tab what they want to see or not.

Hi subkron,
In my opinion, the concept goes beyond the user's options.
The electrical fixtures, as well as the plumbing and HVAC, are attached to the walls, this means exactly "they are part of".
Try this: go the electrical tab and try to place a switch in the middle of a room, without a wall--> you can't, right?
The reason of this is because these fixtures (plumbing, electrical and HVAC), as well as doors and windows are Punch's "intelligent objects", so they know their place in the space. To know this place, they depend of the walls' information.
