I am having no luck changing the properties of doors and windows, where in the regular version, I had no trouble at all. I change the values but they go right back to where they were.
Also when I open a drawing from the old version in version 10, I get a square footage of zero. So far I'm not impressed.

Hi melinda,
If you had Plat V4.5.1. and now you get V10, notice that after you enter the properties of windows, doors, roofs, etc (any value in the properties bar) you need to press the enter key in your keyboard

I ordered the V10 upgrade box set. Would it be best to uninstall my V8 before installing the V10 cd?

Hi again Pat1217,
You don't need to do this unless you wish (or you need more space in your PC)
I run 11 different Punch versions in my computer and all them live in harmony

i downloaded the upgrade for platinum suite and i get an error saying could not initialize installation. file size expected = 708066667, size returned = 56315904....something is missing and i don't know what..i downloaded all three file..what do i do?

Hi Akos,
I get the same error, due to the files not fully downloading. And, the transfer rate is restricted on the Punch side to a mere 10KB/sec ... that's three 24 hour days to download the 3 files!
What did Punch Tech advise to you? That may help my situation also.

Hi,
I just bought the download version of the Architectural Series 4000 Version 10, the complete file size is about 2 gigs and my download speed rate is 8KB/sec in average. I already sent Punch Tech team an email asking them for an explanation or another option for me to go faster since I have to start working on a project ASAP and they replied telling me that I will get an answer within the next 10 working hours. That does not solve my problem at all!

Hi Alfonso,
As you know the download rate is responsibility of your IP. So, perhaps they can provide an additional solution
The normal download times for AS 4000 V10 are
1024 Mbps 4hr 30min
768 Kbps 7hr 45min
512 Kbps 9hr 6min
256 Kbps 21hr 5min
128 Kbps 36hr 24min
56 Kbps 82hr 20min
Anyway, if I remember accurately, Punch has an additional option: a download in 3 stages.
The best thing to do is wait for the TD answer

Thanks a lot for your prompt response, I do have a dedicated T1 connection at home and my average download rate at any other site is at 220KB/sec. I am sure that the problem is not on my side and it is more likely that Punch is either restricting the bandwith or they are having problems with their server. I am trying the 3 stages option with same results.
I guess I'll just have to wait for the TD answer.

Alsonso,
I am not a Punch employee (we are volunteers here), and I downloaded sw from Punch without problems. Many people download sw from Punch without problems, I don't think Punch will slow the system just for you
In addition, the fact that you have a good band width doesn't mean that this is the download rate and that it is the same all the time. You can confirm this with your IP
Suggestion: try to download at night and close your email, browser etc
