Hi angela ayers, I assume you meant DXF files, right? The DXF files are a CAD edit-enable format. They can be opened as text (as you verified) and it can be opened as a drawing in a CAD program or a design / drawing program As you are in the Professional section, I assume that you have Punch Pro 4.5.1. If this is true, you can import DXF plans with this version If you have a floorplan in DXF format, this is the complete list of Punch version and their DWG / DXF import features These are the programs (from Professional to AS 4000) and their import / export features Professional: imports BMP as trace. Exports DXF (without dimensions and with a difference of 20% in the scale) Platinum 4.5.1.: imports BMP as trace. Exports DXF (without dimensions and with a difference of 20% in the scale) V6 version: imports and exports DXF. Also imports BMP as trace (scale and dimensions OK) V7, V8 and V10 versions: they import and export DXF and DWG. Also, they import bmp, jpg etc as trace. (scale and dimensions OK) (V7 imports only bmp images) Notice that the versions that you should import your DXF plan in Punch with the DXF / DWG importer, and not open it by double clicking in the Windows Explorer If you experience problems to import the file, I have a tutorial to solve this problem http://www.punchhelpers.com/CADtutorial.html Let us know if you need additional help Patricia
