Hi, I created fireplaces using the fireplace assistant. I saved it (exported it) as a 3D Punch object to my document file. The other fireplace I created, I had to use Custom Workshop Pro and I was able to save the fireplace in the fireplace folder but here exporting or saving did not lead me to the Punch 3D folders. But this file, when I tried to import it, it does not show up anywhere on my plan. Also I cannot rework this file once exported as a 3D object. So what am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Jean-Paul Schirle-Keller ,

You tried to export it in what format? Did you save it to the library?

Keep in mind that objects developed with the 3D workshop Pro cannot be opened with the 3D Workshop

When I tried to export the fireplace (from the fireplace assistant), I only have one option: export it in a 3D punch format. I could not save it to the library when I worked with the fireplace assistant: the program directs me on the file folders I have on my hardrive... unlike when I am in the CWP program.
I have the HDS Pro program.

Never mind Patricia, I am a dummy. I did not realize that the object was imported in the middle of the sheet and I in the upper corner. One question: is it possible to cut out the wall? the fireplace firebox is cut by the wall of the house (the fireplace is against an exterior wall and the depth of the firebox goes beyond that wall.

Hi Jean-Paul Schirle-Keller

I see in your post below that you solved this problem, however, note that in the FW, there is an option to export the FP to the 3D workshop. From there you can save the FP to the library

Hi Jean-Paul Schirle-Keller

You can use an empty door casement or a window frame to define the cut and insert the fireplace.
Depending of the version, the trim can be set as 0"
