Hi so I know that you can get different models from sketchup and 3DS files and DXF/DWG Files and over the years I have been using sketchup and I have looked at websites that say that they have 3DS and DXF models but when I try to import them into the software they don't work. Do you know any websites that have 3DS and DXF models that will import into punch. Also I was just wondering if it was possible to import mods from a website into punch there is a car model I think it would cool with one of my designs and if its possible could please you tell me how? Thank you

Hi there, Basically, you can import any Sketchup or 3DS file. If you wish to use other formats, you can use a third party program and covert the file. I use Turbocad, but you will find free programs online. Just keep in mind that objects with many polygons make the 3D process slow (depending of your computer resources) You are not informing your version number, but if you have problems importing files, check these tutorials in my website and Facebook page. Tutorial 1 Tutorial 2Also, note that Punchhelpers Store is now LIVE Check out Our Store today! See our new Store and Resources page - We revamped our "Content Collections" with new elements and a bundle - As always, our Starter Collection is FREE and now, includes our magazines. - Introducing "Interactive Tutorials Series", with animations, voice and more. Don't miss our FREE video presentation! - Now, nine Pat's eBooks are available in our store. - All this and more! Check our new page! These items can be used with your Punch! Software, TurboFloorPlan or Architect 3D programs. Hope this helps. |

Hi, I want to design my own entertainment center and I have played with the 3D Custom Workshop and read the user guide but when I use the 3D workshop its highly confusing and hard to operate. Are there any other videos or could someone please make one. It would be much appropriated . I am aware of the tutorial video on the punch website but its just a edit of an object. Also is there any way to get transparent glass in the software to add for doors on the entertainment center. If not possible is it a good idea to just make the entertainment center out of cabinets ? Thank you a example https://instagram.com/p/BkS_K1RhvTk/

2 options: 1 - Import objects : follow Pat's post (above). 2 - Buy Pat eBook that includes a full chapter about the 3DCW with step by step instructions.

I also find the 3D workshop very difficult to do anything in, and have spent days trying to learn but there does not seem to be anything that will teach from the basics that make any sense! I have the "Punch Architectural series home V20" I have had punch software's since 2003 and I am still not getting anywhere with this 3D workshop! I purchased Pat's ebook with the up-grade to V20 but when I download it all I get is for version up to v17.7. and of course punch is closed on the week end so I can not phone them to ask why and I work all week! I also have IMSI TurboCad 2018 which also has terrible learning help!

Hi there, This is odd, because Punch is no longer selling the V17.7 eBook (I am still selling it, but by other channels) Is this the eBook that you purchased? Just to be sure => go to page 4 => the second sentence starts with "This eBook contains all the necessary elements to learn and master...."=> can you copy / paste the full sentence, so I can confirm the version? Let me know, please. The eBook contains a full chapter re: 3D Custom Workshop Power Tool, with step by step tutorials. Let me know if you have questions. |

page 4.jpg (257kb) downloaded 4 time(s).I contacted Punch today they say I have the right one. I just do not know why it talks about how to do things in previous versions. I do not see anywhere that it even mentions V20. It just confuses. hope this will work. Thanks Ralph

Definitively, this is not the page #4 of the V20 eBook.
I will be glad to help you to solve this issue. I am sending more info by PM.

Yes, I was sent the wrong training e-book the first time but thanks to "Patricia Gamburgo" (whom gave me the best help response I ever received from any online help) She got it all fixed up and few hours later I have the right e-book downloaded on my computer! Now my wife & I can get to work learning how to design and draw! Thanks again Patricia!

Well I learned more today after reading the my new "Punch Training Tools & Tutorials" V20 e-Book than I did in the last 6 month. I finally created some custom 3D post and 3D cedar railings with spindles for a new shop and deck job. I am drawing the plans for a client that wants a workshop attached to his garage with a deck on top of it. It will be exciting to show him the 3D walk-thru and around, in a few days when the drawings are all completed. Also my wife has started drawing her first floor plan, with Punch!

Okay, I'm new, well new again as I used to use this years ago, then stopped. Have the latest Mac HDSC20. I've gone to sketch up & downloaded several versions of several 3d objecst (skp: 15, 17, 18, 19, 20) and I can't seem to successfully import using File>Import>Skethup Object, then select file. I can select the .skp file on my computer, but it's not in my USER folder on the 3d tab. Can't figure out how to search. Am I missing something.
