Having a problem with elevation, I have drawn the foundation of my existing basement and garage the problem is that the garage sits higher than the basement, so how can I change elevation, thank you.

Hi there,

This is how I'd do this => set the basement as one floor and the garage as a different floor. Define the elevations and settings as necessary.

Hope this helps.

I don't see my plan but it tells me I have an attachment, so to my problem for elevations, Basement is to be -6' garag2 24x24 to be 2'&' space adjoining garage and house 8' wide will be at the 2nd level all currently drawn, cant seem to separate sections to arrive at correct elevation. P/S ordered V20 yesterday. thank you.

Hi there,

1 - Using the Working floor button (outlined in green the image attached, create a different floor for each elevation (house, garage, basement, etc)
2 - In this case, I created two levels Garage (in red in the image attached) and House (in blue in the image attached).
3 - Select each floor => use the Edit Current floor option (outlined in magenta in the image attached) => set the elevation.
4 - You can use a partial height for the red wall below the blue wall.

Split elevations.jpg (50kb) downloaded 8 time(s).

Hope this helps.

So I have training 20 and are going page by page till my brain smokes. Question for today - on elevation, since my property is on a slope and the N. side is at -5' the S. at 0, I have set elevation at -5 for the basement, why cant I turn the 3D view- flip- and set the S. elevation 0? thank you for the coming response Fritz

What do you mean? Why you can't turn the 3D view? Do you want to flip the elevation? Did you check the different elevation tabs? Are all the levels visible?

If you can, post a screenshot of the problem.

No , what I would like to accomplish is to show the slope of the ground in 3D so that my garage at 71" from the basement floor elevation hands out in the wind not on the ground. My thought was that if one could set ground elevation as is in real life at the start of a drafting project? Thanks I hope this makes sense, looking for a short cut?

Fritz,

Check the tutorials and images in the pages 268 and 269 of my eBook.

If this is not the problem, please, post and image of the issue.

Hope this helps.
