Hi, I'm new to AS and trying to add a spiral staircase - which typically has a center support pole and metal steps that spiral around it. My spiral has a 30" radius. I pasted a typical spiral that you'd see in blueprints below. So a spiral typically goes 270 degrees as it winds up/down... Thank you, Lekim

Hi Lekim, There are different options, depending of your necessities, desired design, etc. 1 - In the main program => Go to the Detail Tab => use the Circular Arc tool => create the desired arc (270° in your case, pointed with a magenta arrow in the image attached) => select it => convert to (outlined in green in the image attached) => staircase (pointed with a red arrow in the image attached) => customize the dimensions, steps, rails, etc. See the spiral stairs pointed with a blue arrow in the image attached. Spiral stairs.jpg (48kb) downloaded 3 time(s).2 - You can build a custom design for your stairs using the 3D Custom Workshop Power Tool. Or you can edit any model in the Furnishing library (Building Elements => Stairs). The Punch file attached contains a very basic spiral stair object from my library. Unzip => select the object => open with the 3D Custom Workshop Power Tool => Save to your library. Spiral stairs.zip (11kb) downloaded 6 time(s).Hope this helps. |
