Hi all, I have a couple of problems related to upgrading to the new V.20 of Home Design Studio Complete. Running on MacBook Pro (late 2012) with OS = Mojave 10.14.5. First, I made a big mistake and didn't open a separate copy of a v.19 file in the new version, and now apparently I can't go back and open that same file in v.19. Is there a workaround to this? Second, dimensions that I had placed in elevation view in v.19 are both a) not showing up correctly in v.20 and b) not able to be selected and/or deleted. Any ideas how to make this happen? I'll try to insert a screen shot... Thanks for any assistance!

Hi there, Regarding your questions: Originally Posted by: dave.t First, I made a big mistake and didn't open a separate copy of a v.19 file in the new version, and now apparently I can't go back and open that same file in v.19. Is there a workaround to this?
Unfortunately, there is not a workaround for this issue. The Punch programs' version compatibility works following the ascendant version number. This means that the old files are compatible with the new versions but this doesn't work backwards. Therefore, a file elaborated with Version 19 (for example) can be opened using version 20, but if you save the file using version 20 it will not open with Version 19. This is a bug. We were told that they will release a patch soon in order to fix this problem. Originally Posted by: dave.t I tried to submit a ticket to tech support, but I don't think it went through and I can't log in to tech support or reset my password.
If you need to contact Tech Support, try this => Go to the Punch Software Main Page => on the right - bottom corner, you will see a red "Online" button => click on this button => chat with an agent. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the reply, Pat. I really should have known better on the file/version compatibility thing. Hopefully the patch will come out soon. Best, Dave

Hi Dave, You're welcome! I just sent a new report to the programmers, showing your screenshot, so let's hope for a fast solution. |
