I have years of experience with various CAD-type products. I tried using some free software online. Most were rudimentary. I decided to take the plug and bought Landscape, Deck & Patio v.20. I assumed that this would allow me to design the deck so I could submit that for a building permit.
All I am getting is the ability to make it look pretty with 4000 different items to put on my deck. I care about the framing and post placement and footing size and such. Obviously I did not buy the right version of this software. What version am I supposed to purchase so I can place and visualize the framing materials of the deck?

Hi there, In this page, you will see the comparison chart, showing the different features included in each program. In order to add framing elements, you need to look for the " Framing" feature in the chart => as you can see, your program (Punch LDP) doesn't include this feature => the titles Architectural Series, Professional, Premium, and Essentials include this feature. Note that the Punch products are Home Design programs, quite different from a CAD program. Hope this helps. |
