Patricia, Just got around to upgrading to Arch v21 and diving into CWP to get familiar with it... seems quite a step up from 3DCW!... and looking for the User Guide for it. Clicking on the User Guide menu item Help>User Guide lands me in the Blog portion of the Punch website with no mention of CWP. Other searches have come up empty for me. Is there a User Guide yet? Also looks like we might need a CWP topic header in the Power Tools section of this forum... Cheers!

Hi Russell, The User Guide includes a short section about the 3DCWP Power Tool on page 474 (see image attached) 3DCWP.png (165kb) downloaded 0 time(s).In addition there is a link for the online guideOf course, if you are interested, my new eBook for Punch V21 (Mac) includes a full chapter about the 3DCWP Power Tool. Hope this helps. |

Patricia... thx for the link there... that seems to work. The link in the Arch Series manual wasn't. I'll check out your ebook chapter before I post more questions ;)
Cheers! RB

You're welcome! This is a new PT, so I'd suggest that you take a time to learn it. Of course, I will be glad to answer your questions. |

Patricia... I have been making some progress on familiarizing myself with CWP... but I have now found myself in a jam. When I launch CWP from within HD Arch 21, the workspace window appears along with the tool pallets... but the CWP app and menu header is gone. I cannot access any of the menus items. Only way I can get out of CWP is to move the workspace window out of the way to reveal the HD Arch 21 window and then close the power tool from there.
I've tried launching CWP from within several HD Arch 21 projects... including a New one... but the problem persists. I CAN successfully launch CWP from outside the HD Arch 21 app... but then the option to save a model into my floor plan doesn't work. It's almost as if I have lost the connection between the 2 applications.
Thoughts?
thx RB

Hi Russell,
I reported this issue a couple of weeks ago, and I was told that there will be a patch soon.
What I do is => I close the tool and reopen it again.
Hope this helps.

... thx... I'm somewhat relieved... I thought I had "broken" it One other thing... shouldn't I be able to create an object in CWP and then be able to "import" it into my floor plan later? I don't see any option to Import a CWP file! Do I have to export the CWP object as some other format in order to get it into HD Arch? (i'm pretty sure you have answered this question 5 million times... but... here we are ) Cheers! RB

To see how it works, follow this example: 1 - Create an object (a chair for example) => Export => Custom Workshop Pro => this step will save a cwp file in your computer (any folder is fine). For example " chair.cwp" 2 - Close the Power Tool. 3 - Open the Power Tool => Import => Custom Workshop Pro => chair.cwp => this step will open the file you saved. 4 - Close the Power Tool => the object will appear the workspace of the main program. You can create a folder with all your cwp files. Note: I already asked the programmers to create a library with thumbnails as we have with the POB files. Hope this helps. |
