Hi, I'm trying to model the actual construction that will happen on my house, so the elevation and interior views will be correct. The house will be built on a basement of 12' Superior Walls, sitting on a gravel footing. The basement floor will be 4" poured concrete, inside the walls. The floor trusses for the first floor will be 18" tall dropped trusses that will actually hang on top of the basement wall, and drop inside, rather than sit fully on top. The base elevation for the basement is set at -11', giving me 1' of the basement wall above grade. The first floor will have a 9' ceiling height, with 18" floor trusses sitting on top of the first floor walls. My question is: What is the best way to model this structure so that the elevation and interior views will accurately reflect the actual construction?
Specifically:
1) How do I reflect the fact that the basement floor is poured inside the walls, rather than sitting on top? 2) How do I set up for the dropped floor truss system between the basement and first floor?
The only way I know of to do this is to adjust the height of the basement walls to be 10' 2" (12' - 4" concrete floor - 18" dropped truss). This should put the first floor elevation correctly at 1' above grade, given a -11' base elevation for the basement.
Is there a better way?

@PT1234, Thanks for your response. I've defined the levels and elevations, the issue is that punch doesn't seem to want to let me define it as it will actually be built. It doesn't seem to have the concept of a top chord bearing dropped truss, nor the support for pouring the basement floor inside the walls, as opposed to the walls sitting on top. deactivate the automatic features (such as floors) and create these features manually. |

@Forum Host, Thanks! Great idea!
Can you help me with a pointer on how to do that? I've previously created ceilings manually using the roof tool. Would I use the same to create a floor? How do I deactivate the automatic floors? And if I do, will it automatically adjust the elevation of the walls sitting on it?
