How do I print out a list of my plants used? There does not appear to be any display options for my plants chosen. You can only hover over the plant icon to reveal the description. Help please.

Hello,

When you post questions at the Forum, please inform the exact name (Architectural Series or Essentials, etc) and version number of your program (V15 or V18 or V21, etc).
On the PC you will find this information in the main menu => Help => About…
On the Mac this info is on the title menu => About…

Different programs and versions include different features, so we need the information in order to provide the correct solutions.

Hi there,

Your program includes the Estimator Power Tool, so after you inserted the plants => Go to Main Menu => Design => Launch Power Tool => Estimator.
Check the Landscape Plant Schedule in the "All" or "Landscape" tabs => you will find a list with the names of the plants, as well as their ages and quantities.

Hope this helps.

P, Thanks so much. That helps. However, I am still wondering how you can print the name of a plant with your landscape design map or at least correspond the plant icon with the plant list. I don't want to create a text note annotation for every single plant or tree. That would be a lot of work.

Hi there,

In order to visualize the name of the plants in your plan, Click on the plant using the Leader Dimension tool (outlined in red in the image below).

You can customize the 2D plant symbols using the Plant Symbol Library or importing your own symbols.

Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read, search and follow the User Guide (this is important) => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components.

If you are interested, my eBook for Punch V22 for Windows includes lots of tutorials and a full chapter about how to create the different elevations. In addition, you will receive an interactive tutorial that outlines how to get started on your project.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the Leader Dimension tip and general advice in learning the software. There is definitely a learning curve so I'm grateful the forum exists.

Is there a way to print out the plant detail information to match the plant list? Right now, I have to highlight each plant item to see the detail, and print each one separately.

Hi there,

To do this, you'll need to customize the plant name / description by moving the plants to your custom library => right click => change plant details.
In this way, the new details will appear in the Estimator.

Hope this helps.
