Scott LSI V21 punch home design

I have a customer that would like the design file for his house in a DWG so he can see it in CAD.

I tried following the suggestion to edit select all the edit copy then open a blank file then edit paste. When I open the new file and select edit everything is greyed out so is not available.

I am working in windows 10 on a desk top.

I am not sure what do you mean? I understand that you wish to export a project to DWG but the instructions above are intended to copy a plan to another file.
Can you provide more details and, if possible, some screenshots?

Patricia,

this is what I found in the forum under how to export a punch file to DWG.

Here Try this:

- Open your Punch plan.
- Set the first floor as working plan.
- Edit--> Select All--> Edit--> Copy
- Create a new and empty Punch file.
- Set the first floor as working plan.
- File--> Paste
- File--> Save as -->firstfloor.PRO
- Power Tools--> DXF/ DWG Exporter--> Save as--> firstfloor.dxf or firstfloor.dwg

Repeat the process with level 2 and level 3

This is why I was trying to open a new file and paste it.

When I just export from the original file it only makes a file 56kbps which I know is to small for all the info in the drawing.

Scott

Hi there,

As is clearly stated in the first item of the section Tips to Post Questions of our Forum => "All the topics, questions and answers posted on the old forum (February 2002 until May 2018) are in the "Old Forums" category (it is the last category). Notice that the Old Forum category is a Read Only section. Also notice that some of the "Old Forum" topics are very old (don't forget to check the dates), therefore, some answers and links are no longer valid."

In your case, if you check the answer you mentioned above, the text was posted more than 19 years ago (December 1st /2003 - outlined in red in the image below) in the Old Forums section, for a very old program (Architectural series 3000 - Outlined in blue in the image below).
As you have Professional version 21, notice that they are different programs with different features.

Actually if you read the user's answer, you will notice that he wanted to know how to separate the levels and export.

We can help you better if you just post a question asking, for example, how to export your plan to DWG. The answer => you can follow the topic called "Exporting a DXF or DWG File"in the user guide (page 39)

Hope this helps.
