I have a MacBook Pro. When i upgraded to Ventura I started having issues. When I click on the cabinet icon to insert a cabinet, it does not matter what cabinet that I select, it installs the island cabinet.

Hello,
When you post questions at the Forum, please inform the version number of your program (V15 or V18 or V21, etc). On the Mac this info is on the title menu => About…
Different programs and versions include different features, so we need the information in order to provide the correct solutions. |

macOS 12.6.6. Home Design Pro for Mac v21.0.8.
Same issue - no matter which option I choose in Cabinet Tool, it places the island cabinet. Also, cabinet option include a bookcase for some reason?
I cannot design a kitchen with this software and will have to use something else (and get 100% refund on this one). It does not look like the software had any updates since 2021?

Hi there, No bugs or limitations here => you just need to learn how to place the cabinet in the correct place. When you use the Cabinet tool (Floor Tab), you have two options to place the cabinets. - If you place the cabinet by clicking on the floor of the room, Punch will set an island cabinet. - If you place the cabinet by clicking or dragging on the wall of the room, Punch will set a wall cabinet using the selected model (including bookcases) => go to the cabinets' menu => select the desired model => click inside the wall. See image below. Cabinets Placement.jpg (46kb) downloaded 0 time(s).Important Tip: you can insert the cabinet first and select the model after. Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the User Guide (this is important), see the videos => In order to get started, try to create elements or a simple plan not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and solutions. In the User Guide, you will find more about cabinets (starting on page 171) or if you are interested, my eBook for Punch V21 for Mac includes tutorials and how-to guides about cabinets. Hope this helps. |

Perfect, thank you!
I did read the complete manual (who does it these days?), but that little trick escaped me. Maybe (underused) status line could display tips like that.

Hi there, You're welcome. Glad to know that the problem is solved You don't need to read the entire manual. The User's Guide is a PDF file, that includes an amazing feature called "Search" (the icon is a magnifier) => so if you search, for example, "cabinet" => the search feature will point the desired page. Same feature exists in our Forum Hope this helps. |
