I am dealing with a tri level foundation project where the primary home is a raised foundation, an addition was added totaling 852 sq ft on a slab foundation that is 1' lower than the raised foundation and 2 car garage 300 sq ft is on grade no how i draw and blend the tri level, the software recalculate the geometry and make all three levels on the same level including the crawl space? Is there a work around for that?

Hello,
When you post questions at the Forum, please inform the version number of your program (V15 or V18 or V21, etc). On the PC you will find this information in the main menu => Help => About… On the Mac this info is on the title menu => About…
Different programs and versions include different features, so we need the information in order to provide the correct solutions.

Hi there, One of the most important settings in Punch is the definition of the levels / elevations, so, my suggestion is that you create a Floor for each elevation. These settings will also define the correct elevation for all the related elements. When you start a project, you will see the "New Project Setup" screen (see image below) => use this screen to determine the different parameters and elevations of your project. The height "H" (pointed with a red arrow in the image below) marks the desired height above grade => set this height if necessary. Some additional tips : Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => In order to get started, try to create elements or a simple plan not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and solutions. If you are interested, my eBook for Punch V22 for Windows includes all the features, lots of tutorials, screen guides, examples, how-tos as well as images for each setting. In addition, it includes a full chapter (called Understanding the elevations) about the floor / elevations issue. Hope this helps. |
