Hello, I apologize for the long read...

I've been using Punch! products as a hobbyist for a lot of years, but never with much knowledge or skill. Now that I'm retired, I've picked up a part-time gig doing overflow drafting and design for a local Architect. I started out, years ago with the Architectural Series, "upgraded" from AS4000 to Home & Landscape Design Studio a couple of years ago, and have now upgraded from that to H&LD Architecture V24, with CWPro. Also bought Pat's eBook.

Frankly, I'm feeling a mite stupid right now. I have Pat's excellent manual, but I'm struggling to do things that seem like they should be easy. For instance, I've successfully created a stair object in CWP. I was even able to load it into a drawing. It looks really nice in 3D, but only shows as a blank rectangle in 2D. How do I add some sort of image to show what it is on the floor plan? More than that, how do I save the blasted thing to my user library for future use?

TBH, I use ProgCAD v24 for all my 2D design work for the architect. I got back into Punch! for its 3D features. They are MUCH simpler to use. It's a service we'd like to add for our clients. I've played with it in the past. Now it's serious...and I don't even know what questions to ask to learn how to use it well.

So, that's the background. Here's the query: Can someone please tell me, in idiot-proof, tiny, baby-steps, how to turn an image/object I just created in CWP into an accessible/loadable object in my user Library?

Please bear with me. I'm good up to here: Create and include the 2D profile (page 472 of my eBook) => save the object to your User Library => your new object will include (and show) the 2D + 3D elements.
One step at a time. Create a 2D profile? Page 472 tells me to select the "edit 2D profile option". Where do I find that option? I can't see it anywhere.

Homer Simpson moment... Please DO read carefully and follow the directions! I was looking/working in CWPT Pro, not CWPT, as specified. DOH!!!
New problem. I exported as both 3DS and SP files. Neither will open correctly in CWPT. They appear to load, but there is no image.

Tried all methods to view, without success.
So, just for grins and giggles, I tried your suggestion in V22 Studio...and it worked! I was able to create a profile and save it. I wasn't able to edit it the way I wanted, but something is better than nothing. Net result? Problem solved, with a minor proviso.

I have several tickets pending with tech support, which, along with this issue, cause me to suspect that there's something wrong with my V24 install. FI, the issue which led to our little adventure is some kind of malfunction within the stair tool, accessed from the floor plan. It's what led me to create a section of stairway in CWPT Pro in the first place. When creating a stairway, on the floor plan, I am NOT offered the options to include/exclude or modify the handrails. See attached.

Please note that in v24 there is no option to work on stair rails...and no arrow to click, that I can find. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I re-read the stairs section, pages 84-90, as you suggested...and I noticed something interesting.

From what I see in the snip from page 89 of the manual, the 'Railing' option is normally accessed by selecting the 'Stair' tab at the top of the properties menu. Is that correct?
The trouble is, as you can see in the other snip, the 'Stair' tab in my properties menu is grayed out. Ergo, I have no way to access the 'Railing' options. How do I fix that?

So simple... You explained it clearly, but I insisted on missing it. "Select the stairs" you said.
