Hi there, Some important concepts: - Visualize your project in elevation view mode => notice that you can't export the image as a scaled drawing. However, you can print the elevation as a 2D scaled drawing. - A scaled PDF can be imported / placed in the Sheet Layout Mode. - You mentioned => View Source => 3D View (as per your image) => notice that this referred to rendered images, and they are never scaled. Some additional tips : Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => In order to get started, try to create elements or a simple plan not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and solutions. If you are interested, my eBook for Punch V24 includes all the features, lots of tutorials, screen guides, examples, how-tos as well as images for each setting. In addition, it includes a full section about Elevation View. Hope this helps. |

Thank you Patricia for the information. When I try to print the elevation as a 2D scaled drawing, the 'print' is greyed out. It will only let me print in 3D. Elevation View - print navailable.png (62kb) downloaded 5 time(s).Mahalo Trish

Hi there,
I am not sure about the contents of the image you are showing => I see the screen of the main program in 2D mode, showing the drawing of an elevation. Please, clarify the contents of your image. Did you insert the drawing of an elevation in 2D mode?

I am in elevation view, I tried to print to 2D, but 'print' was grey'd out. So I just decided to print to 3D, it did give me the scale options. I selected 1/8, And printed to PDF, Arch D, Landscape, black and white. Saved my file, then went to import PDF file in my sheet view but the picture did not come across well. It got all distorted and the building was missing.

Check carefully => the settings are not matching. When the settings are matching you will get this: 24x36.JPG (46kb) downloaded 3 time(s).Learn about this feature's settings in the user guide (page 65) Hope this helps. |

Thank you again for the help and sorry it is not working for me as explained... I also checked the user guide for settings. Here is what steps I have taken... From Sheet Layout View, I selected - Paper Setup, Arch D, Landscape Picture1.png (72kb) downloaded 0 time(s).Then from elevation view I select - Print 3D View And adjust settings to - Arch D, Landscape Picture2.png (74kb) downloaded 0 time(s).PDF of Elevation View Opens, I check properties, and it is set to - Arch D, Landscape Picture3.png (27kb) downloaded 1 time(s).In Sheet Layout View, I select Import PDF, select the PDF And upon import it only imports the lines none of the building elements. Picture4.png (50kb) downloaded 0 time(s).I even tried to resave the PDF version with new name and imported with same results. Just the lines and measurements added to elevation view and no building elements.

Hi there,
In all the steps, did you check your PDF settings?
Can you inform the name and version number of your PDF program?

Hi there, I still see mixed settings. However, as I am just a volunteer here, I can't access your computer, hardware, etc. I'd suggest that you submit a ticket and discuss the issue with Tech Support. |
