Cannot figure out how to actually use the Subplan feature. Help pages explain how to create and change names for subplans but do not explain how to actually populate them or how to access/edit or use them in any useful way. What am I missing? Any further clues might help.

Hi there,

Using the Subplans you can create, show / hide, and organize your plans, 3D views and presentations. This works on the 2D / 3D screens as well as using Layout views.

Create the subplans in the main plans (Floor, Deck, etc.) => set the 2D / 3D visibility of each subplan => if necessary, select each element => right click => move to the desired plan / subplan.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, the salient clue was to "move" elements to the subplan.

Until you do that the subplan is an "empty box" and, for all intents and purposes, it is invisible. Once the required elements are moved to the subplan, those elements of the subplan can be made visible in either 2D or 3D or both when viewing/printing the section of the plan where the elements of the subplan are located by manipulating the visibility setting in the subplan configuration screen.

You're welcome! Cool

Glad to know that the subplans are working fine.
