I have Home Design Pro 21 for MAC. I would like to add missing items to to the material schedule and have the estimator tool determine the quantity needed. For example, the Roofing Schedule just shows the number of squares of shingles needed based on the area of the roof. I would like it to also estimate the amount needed for : (1) underlayment (2) ice and water membrane, (3) drip edge/eaves starter, (4)starter strip shingles, (5) vents (allowing me the choice of box vents, ridge cap vent etc.), (6)roofing nails etc......in other words a complete materials list. Is this possible in this or another version?

Also, do you have to enter the prices manually every time? Is there a way to reuse a price that has already been entered i.e. if my average price for a bundle of shingles is $45 a bundle do I have to enter that in manually every time? Which leads to another question if shingles are sold in bundles, typipcally 32 square feet per bundle, can I get the estimartor tool to estimate the number of bundles not the number of squares? How do you make the total cost accurate if the material schedule is incomplete? I Estimator.jpg (35kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

Hi there,

The items appearing in the Estimator spreadsheet are the components appearing in the project. If you placed a window in the design, it will appear in the Estimator, however, as the drip edge/eaves starters, ice and water membranes, etc are not components present in the Punch file, they are not present in the Estimator.
Keep in mind that Punch is just a Home Design program.

Regarding the roof estimation, you can change the default setting in the "Preferences" menu.

Hope this helps.
