Punch H&L Design Pro 25.0
When I go into the power tools ceiling designer I can do the ceiling fine, and it transfers to the main program ok. The problem I'm having is that to see the design you have to turn show ceilings off. IF the design is smaller than the room ceiling, you have an open gap of nothing around it. For example, a long hallway that one might want a barrel ceiling in, but not the whole length, or perhaps 4 or 5 shorter barrel segments. Or an odd shaped room you want a dome ceiling in but only centered over the "square" part. Any work arounds to close the open spaces?

Hi there,
Any work arounds to close the open spaces?
Actually, these are not work arounds. The options depend of the different design settings as well as the desired final results (also, don't forget about the Estimator PT settings)
- If you wish to remove the entire celling of the room in order to add a partial barrel ceiling => remove the automatic ceiling in the room => using the Ceiling Designer PT, create the barrel ceiling (using the barrel ceiling tool) => create the flat ceiling areas (using the rectangle or the polygon ceiling tools). - If you don't wish to remove the entire celling of the room in order to add a partial barrel ceiling => using the Ceiling Designer PT, create the barrel ceiling (using the barrel ceiling tool) => return to the main program => create an cutout in the ceiling outlining the barrel ceiling (using the floor cutout tool).
Hope this helps. |

Using the cutout tool seems like it would be the easiest to do the way I am doing it, but how can you tell the FLOOR cutout tool that you are removing a CEILING section when you're dealing with a one story structure?

Hi there,
how can you tell the Floor cutout tool that you are removing a ceiling section
Draw the Floor Cutout => Define the elevation (it must be the ceiling elevation) => also, don't forget to check the thickness.
Hope this helps.
