I am currently using the software (Home Design Professional 22 - version 22.0.9) to design a basement, but I’m finding the visibility in Design Mode nearly impossible to work with, specifically regarding the electrical symbols. Manually adjusting every element is not a good option, and the line weight scaling is problematic; a setting of '1' is invisible, while '2' is far too thick. Is there a way to globally change the default size, weight, and color for all symbols? If the software cannot produce legible blueprints for building permits, it won't meet my requirements. I’d appreciate any guidance on how to fix these display settings and the global settings for elements - especially for electrical symbols. Thank you.

Hi there, Yes, you can change the type of lines, thickness, colors, patterns, etc, using the tools included in the Drawing Styles bar. Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important) => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and solutions. If you are interested, my eBook for Punch V22 for Mac includes lots of tutorials and how-to guides. Hope this helps. |

Hi Patricia, Thank you for your reply but unfortunately this was not helpful. I might be new to Punch software but not new to design. The question is: can I save custom styles for various objects such as cables, walls, receptacles so I can used them in other areas of the document or other projects? Again, thank you for your reply.

Hi there, Not sure how your design experience is related with your learning experience with Punch. For example, if you have experience with AutoCad, or Revit, etc this experience is not going to help you with your cables, walls, receptacles. As I explained, each program, has a different learning curve. Anyway, in order to provide a complete answer, please, inform: - Is this a question regarding 2D or 3D styles? (or both) - Do you mean objects or components? (Very important!!!) - Does your program include 3D Custom Workshop Power Tool? - Did you configure your libraries? |
