Hey Gang, Has anyone else seen this issue of tiered dimensions not adding up to the total dimension? I've seen this off and on in various plans I've created, and never figured out how to fix it. I've attached a simple example. Appreciate any thoughts or help. Thanks, Dan Punch V22 dimension issue.jpg (28kb) downloaded 4 time(s).

Hi there,
I saw this issue before. It is related with the Dimension Precision settings.
Use the same precision for all the dimensions and verify the precision of the dimension of the entire wall.
Hope this helps. |

Hi Patricia, Thanks for your help in here. The only Dimension Precision settings I'm familiar with are the global ones in the Preferences menu (screenshot attached). Its been set to sixteenths for as long as I can remember. I never change that. My understanding is that these apply to all dimensions. Is there a setting somewhere to adjust the precision for individual walls? I'm not aware of anything like that. Thanks, Dan Dimension Properties.jpg (45kb) downloaded 1 time(s).

Hi Dan,
You can check also Main Menu => 2D => Dimension Properties.
In addition, for a better visualization, try this:
- Draw a wall with the desired dimension. - Set the precision to 1/16" - Select the wall with the arrow with # sign. - Verify / correct the dimension (this trick works better with decimals instead of fractions)
Hope this helps. |

Thanks Pat, I didn't see anything about dimension precision in the Dimension Properties menu, however using the Resize Segment tool fixed at least one of the issues. I'll see if the works consistently on them all
Thanks again, Dan
