Hi Darrel,
Check the image attached.
There are two ways
- You can build a gable wall as you described (white brick wall in the image). To do this just choose the shape, set the pitch and elevation. The only problem is that they will be rendered as two walls - You can build a wall with the shape you need (brown brick wall in the image). To do this, just choose the shape and set the pitch (see the properties bar at the right side of the image)

OK good tip, got it to work. Now how can I change this part of the wall to have a different siding than the rest of the wall?

First, FYI, I am not a Punch employee. I am just a volunteer, so I participate in the Forum in function of my time schedule
Regarding your question: is very easy. As stated in the manual Click the wall section that will be fitted to the gable roof, the Wall Properties bar is displayed. 2. Click the Wall Style button, then click the Gable Style on the popup menu. 3. Type the Base Height. The Base Height, denoted by the blue bar, will typically be your ceiling height. 4. Type Pitch - A and B to match the pitch of the roof section they will meet. 5. Type Height - C and Height - D (if necessary). Click OK.
If you look carefully the image attached, so will see the different type of walls. Some of them are showing the dimension D

Create an interior wall just outside of the standard exterior gable roof wall. Do a wall segment properties and select the trapezoid wall that has a gable at the top and two sides. Set the sides to zero, put the gable pitch for both sides of the gable pitch, then elevate the triangular wall created to the height of the original wall. You can move it in closer to the original wall, but if you get it right on top, it is more difficult to select the next time.
Obviously, you can create the entire trapezoidal wall from the same wall segment properties but you lose the capability to texture the gable differently from the wall.

I don't understand filling in simple gable ends in either this should be a easy thing to do they show you all these weird shapes but not a simple gable shape I have read the manual about this and it looks like something that needs better instructions

I've constructed a gable roof with a 14.4:12 pitch. When I'm trying to adjust the wall to the same pitch it will only accept 10.0. Is there a setting I should change?

Hi jjvos
Wall tool--> click on the wall shape button (second icon--> gable in your case) --> set the "A" and "C" values as desired --> Press Enter after each selection--> set the pitch (14.4 in your case)--> Press Enter after each selection (if you don't press Enter, Punch doesn't include the value)
Hope this helps
