Hi Tom Byrd

Yes, you should define the rooms first as well as the height of the walls. Then, you should draw the ceilings (with the floor tool). You need one ceiling for each different elevation, or if you prefer, one ceiling for each room (I prefer the last option). After you define the ceilings-->

Select the ceiling--> Edit--> Set object elevation--> write the ceiling elevation
or

Select the ceiling --> right click the elevation slider--> write the ceiling elevation

or

Select the ceiling--> right click on the piece--> Set elevation--> write the ceiling elevation

Hope this helps

I have some ceilings showing on my floor plan and in 3d, but when I look at it from the outside some of the rooms have three ceilings over them. With a house with 8', 10',11' and 12' ceilings how do I define a ceiling for just a certain area?

I drew walls when I first started and now when I go to the foundation view, there is no foundation showing under the original house. When I draw in new walls it appears, but nothing shows under the origianl drawing. Do I need to start over?
