Ernest J, Punch, as any other home design software is a tool. And as any other tool, the results will depend of your goals and the skills of the operator You can show your Customers your work in 3D, of course (Punch great with this task). However, if you don't know the drawing requirements of your county, what plans are required for approval, the exigencies of the building department, and the market conditions (including prices), I am not sure is you are ready to start with your career as drafter Browse for information about the technical requeriments in SC (including the legal conditions) and let us know exactly what kind of plans you intend to draw, so we'll explain what Punch can do / can't do I'd suggest also, to read my article "Do I need an architect?"in my website http://www.punchhelpers.com/need_arch.html or you can check lots of interesting discussions about this topic in this forum. Perform a search with the word "architect" and "CAD" Hope this helps Patricia |

Hi MARTY GOBLE, If you have Punch AS 3000 or up you can import a DWG plan. All the Punch programs V7, V8 and V10 versions import DXF or DWG To import the plan, you should use the DWG / DXF importer Power Tool. After you import the plan you must select the lines and convert them into walls, floors, etc in order to "build" your house in 3D If you experience problems to import the file, I have a tutorial to solve this problem http://www.punchhelpers.com/CADtutorial.html |
