HI I have set my lot size (in topo designer) to 285 m X 175m and created all the contours. When I go back to the landscape designer I only have an area of about 60m X 60 m on which to work. How do I get to change this size? Additional, if I try adding anything into landscaper I receive a message which states that no changes can be made because a power tool is open. Please help Thanks Angelo

Hi Angelo,

To set the lot dimensions in Punch AS4000, you need to follow these steps
- Set the lot dimensions with the topo designer (Design--> Lot properties)
- Save the topography file (File--> Save topography as--> "yourfile.PTO")
- File--> Exit Power tool--> "Update current design?"--> yes

In this way, the new lot dimensions will appear in the main design

Hi Patricia Thanks very much for the help with setting the lot dimensions. It is very simple now that I know what to do. I have another problem and wonder if you can help me. I am using the exacvation tool, but it does not seen to dig the hole. With AS3000, when I used the excavation tool, I would get a hole when viewing it with liveview, however all I get now is a flat area at the evalvation at which I draw it. Thanks Angelo

Hi Angelo,

glad to know that the answer helped!

I am attaching the image of two excavations (AS 4000). The first (left) is -20" and the second (right) -40" . Check if this is the image appearing in your computer
Don't forget to put the minus (-) sign in front of the elevation value

Hi Patricia Thanks for help with Excavator. I figured out from your attachment and that if the walk-through speed was set to the lowest setting it would give me the view I required. I'm guessing that this setting would allow Liveview to compute the picture correctly and therefore display it correctly. Once more, thanks very much. Angelo

In the AS4000 instruction manual on page 42, it talks about converting Sloped Lot and Sloped Lot Section objects into contours and setting the contour spacing in the properties box that appears after the object is selected. After I select a Sloped Lot object, I only see in the properties box a choice for slope (descent angle), and I don't have the option of setting the contour spacing or converting to contours. How can I get the properties box to display those options? Also, what is the difference between a Sloped Lot object and a Sloped Lot Section object?

Hi Lyle, Thanks for your answer. The drawing you added helped me to more easily understand what you were saying with words. In your example, I see that you were directly creating contours in order to make the required slope. I didn't know about adding the extra contours at the top and bottom of the Punch! lot - that will come in handy in the future. I still am hoping to find out about getting or enabling the features that the AS4000 printed manual (page 42) talks about - which is selecting either a Sloped Lot or Sloped Lot Section object and using the "Convert to contours" button in the properties bar. My version of AS4000 doesn't have a "Convert to contours" button, or a "Contours" field within the Slope properties box. Is that just a misprint in the manual, or should my version 8.0.0 have those features? Thanks again, Andy

My lot goes from an 8 ft elevation in the front of the house to a zero ft elevation at the rear. My home has 3 floors (Basement, First and Second). The basement level is 8 ft in height an will have a rear entry walkout (at ground level). I have added a rectangular topo object in the front of my home (at 8 Ft in elevation) which ends at the front wall of basement. I have also added a building pad (set to Zero ft elevation) symmetrical to the external walls of the basement. Everytrhing looks fine execept for the fact that land in front comes through the front basement wall and slopes down on the inside of the basement. How do I instruct Topo to stop the land once it reaches the edge of the basement (and building pad)? Thanks; Robert
