Hi Peter,

Glad to know it helped!

Yes in my opinion the "Convert to" is the best way to create curved staircases.
Other tips
- To flip the stairs, develop the stairs in a separate plan--> draw the stairs--> Design--> Flip entire plan
- You can trace the circle with the radius to the middle of the step
- Try to find the center of the circular walls, and use this point as center of the stairs' circle

If you wish, e-mail me your staircase and I'll help you

I have never had any succes with doing curved staircases in punch, and so I gave up on it altogether. Since I don't need to see them in liveview, it does not matter. I do them in ACAD. If you have access to a real CAD pgm or any pgm that can handle dxf or dwg files, you can download them from many places. The one I use most is http://www.arcways.com/ . They also make great but pricey stairs. Anyway, I have not tried to do it but I have heard that you can convert dxf/dwg files to some sort of "objects" in punch and then use them in 2D but not 3D. I could be wrong on this. You might try looking into Autosketch by the ACAD people. I think it is about the same price as As4000, but could be wrong. It does not do rendering in 3D however, unless some upgrade has come out. I have not used it in well over 5 years. I have the ability to render ACAD drawings, so it is not a problem for me. What might pose a problem with this technique is the ability to scale the object to fit your plan. If you have access to a CAD pgm, you might try scaling it there before importing it to punch. Good luck. Jim
