Hi Chris,

You have 2 resources

1 --> Go to your Windows Explorer--> Program Files--> Punch! Home Design - AS 4000--> Data--> you'll find some files called ProDataX.dat (X will be a number ProData1.dat, ProData2.dat, etc)--> copy these files to other folder--> rename each file as *.PRO--> ProData1.PRO, ProData2.PRO, etc

Open your Punch program and open one by one the files ProDataX.PRO you created (File--> Open..etc). Probably, one of them is your old file, so you will be able to get it back

2--> you can use the 3D selection tool (arrow icon in the lower right corner in Live view, see the attached image).
You can select items just on the active floor. So, if you click on the object in live view and it doesn't become active in the plan, try with other level.
I suggest to work with liveview / half view so you can control the plan and the live view at the same time
Once you select the object--> Edit--> move to--> upper / lower floor--> Set the elevation, if necessary

Hope this helps

Thanks Patricia, I think the problem occurred when I decided to add the plot of land around my house - I was very pleased to see the garden wall and the road in front of the house, but didn't realise you had to start with the plot or else the house would be scrambled! I found your backup files - useful thing to know about - but unfortunately the oldest one already had the problem, probably due to my frantic efforts to correct things. Selecting e.g. a 3rd level wall in the 3D view and sending it up one level (from the ground floor in the plan view) put it in the sky above the house, and I couldn't face picking out each item and then trying to figure out how to settle them all down again in their proper places. So I went back to an earlier version I'd saved under a different name, and redid the roof conversion bits. In doing so I realised I'd made the mistake of thinking that roof dimensions down the slope referred to the part of the roof, and not to the horizontal projection of it, so I've been able to make a few corrections at the same time - it's an ill wind... By the way, I can only spend time on this at weekends, hence the delay replying. Thanks again, Chris

Hi Chris,

Glad to know that the info helped to understand the problem

Is a good idea if before the selection in 3D, you set the default ceiling height for each level (Design--> Default ceiling height).

When you select the pieces in 3D and you change the levels, you must check and if necessary, change the level and set the elevation (Edit--> set the object elevation) or with the help of the elevation slider or right clicking on the object (depending of the object)
