Hi Tom Issan, Re installing the sw will not solve the problem. In Punch the roof textures are applied in one direction, so if you wish to follow all the angles and pieces of a roof, you should create new textures following the angles of the roof pieces. You can do this using--> Power Tools--> Material Workshop--> Select--> Rotate Patricia |

This is the same answer I got from Punch/customer help.
If I do as you/they suggest I will have 4 different tiles/directions for each material.
This only happens when using the roof wizard and not in the normal window/roofs.
This problem is recent and difficult to cope with/sdjust when applying complex roof designs.
Can I just replace the files in the roof wizard that now seem to be corrupt? Can someone email them to me?
I also have a problem with the elevation editor: the dimensions dissapear and aren't visable.
I did a complete re-install and as you suggested, it didn't help. I had some other problems so I even did a complete re-format of my C: drive and that didn't solve the problems either. My only thought now is to replace the files in C:/program files/punch/roof wizard and also C;....elevation editor.
Thanks for any help...

Hi Tom, I don't think that format / re install will solve the problem I saw in your images Did you check/update the video card drives? The textures don't affect the normal use of the Roof Wizard. You need to create a texture for each roof direction--> use the Roof Wizard--> apply the textures after Patricia |

Hi Patricia,
I received a detailed explanation from Punch Tech support and was told that this problem with the roof wizard is an issue that the developers are aware of and in the new version 5000 it is corrected. Hopefully they'll find a fix for this in 4000.
Thanks for your continued support.
Tom

On a couple of occasions now, I have seen objects in the 3D view which were deleted at some point in the past. Is there a way to refresh the 3D view to get rid of phantom objects which are no longer in the design?
Thanks,
Maurice

No, they never disappear and they do not show up in any plans. In fact, in one case, it was just one object in the first floor. If I added the same object again, I could see 2 such objects on top of each other if I put them in the same place. If the exact same place, I guess they would have merged as one. But I could never delete the phantom object.
In another case, it was several kitchen cabinets which I had deleted and which would still show up in live view. I can't remember the sequence of events there and whether I had done an undo at some point.
Anyway, this isn't a big deal for me right now. I went back to an earlier saved plan and re-did some of my work, but this was very bizarre nevertheless, especially since it happened twice.
Thanks,
Maurice

Hi Maurice To locate an object visible in 3D but not in 2D, there are several options -->Start with the first level, in the first tab (Foundation) and go over the following tabs (Floor, Electrical, etc). Repeat the process in the second and third floors, with all the tabs , until you find the objects -->If you have a Punch AS 3000 V7 a V8 / V10 / V12 program, you can use the 3D selection tool (arrow icon in the lower right corner in Live view) You can select items just on the active floor. So, if you click on the object in live view and it doesn't become active in the plan, try with other level (try all the levels independently of the level where the object seems to be) I suggest to work with liveview / half view so you can control the plan and the live view at the same time --> In addition, depending of your Punch version, you can try with the Elevation Editor (Power tools--> Elevation Editor). Set 3D objects visible--> The object will be visible--> select--> delete Patricia |
