Hi Charles Gauci,

Did you check / update the DirectX files? --> Go to www.microsoft.com/directx, and see what version is current and check if you have this version installed in your computer

If the version is OK--> try this--> In your computer click--> Start--> Run--> dxdiag--> Display--> run the 3 tests

If all the tests' results are OK, let me know brand and model of your video card and I will try to help

Patricia, thanks for your reply. The tests were successful. I have a Radeon X700 Series Card, ATI Radeon Graphics Processor, 256 MB Memory, current display 1024x768.32 bit 60 Hz. I have installed the latest direct x. Still have problem. Never had this problem before reformat.

Hi Charles Gauci

If you experienced these symptoms using an ATI VC, chekc if your driver is 7.8 or up
According with the ATI people, drivers 7.8 and up are showing problems with the DirectX capabilities
You should download and use Catalyst 7.7, it works OK
