Do you mean a backsplash?
Try one of the following resources
1 - create three walls stacked and texture just the middle part http://www.punchhelpers.com/residential14.html
2 - If you wish to create just two parts, use a wainscot + tile
3 - Create a backsplash object with the 3D workshop
