Hi Westbrook,
Internally, Punch works with 6 decimals, however you'll not see this in the screen for V8 versions and older In The V10 versions you can set your dims with decimals
Hope this helps

Aha!
How do I upgrade to V10?
Is it a free patch to PP V8, or is it an upgrade to another product?

Hi Westbrook, You must upgrade to a new product like AS 3000 V10 or AS 4000 V10. However if you intend to buy a new product , you can check also IDS (is a V10 interior design suite, intended for interior design) or MLP (is a V10.5 landscaped oriented program) You can check the prices in this page http://www.punchsoftware.com/full_store.html(click on the upgrade buttons) Hope this helps Patricia |

Upgraded to AS4000 V10.0.0.
Step height is given only in whole inches. It will not take fractional inches, such as 7.5".
Am I doing something wrong, or ss there an option or a plug-in available that will do this?
We are designing with 7.5" step height.
We don't want to go to 8", because it's too steep, and we can't go to 7", because we get too many steps. We are remodelling, and adding another 10" step cuts off too much of the room.
Please advise.

Hi Westbrook
You need to set your dims preferences Go to main menu--> Design--> Unit of measure--> Precision--> you set from entire inches to 1/16"
Hope this helps

With Patricia and Lyle's input, I was able to do what I wanted.
Stairs are very, very tricky.
The framing view still doesn't come out perfect, but I'm hoping it's close enough so that we only have to cut one set of stringers.
