Hi Eric Brandenburg,

The first concept in this discussion: Punch is not a CAD package, is a Home Design package, and this makes a lot of difference. In a Home Design program, the target is the house, the design and the home design components (walls, floors, etc). Punch and the 3D workshop power tool are not intended to detail furniture. Of course, the quality of the object to be created depends also of the version
You can see some nice examples of 3D workshop pieces in my galleries

Dimensions in the 3D workshop: use the grids and the 2D views (Front, Top, etc). Select the piece--> option--> object size
To gropu the pieces: select the pieces--> edit--> group
