Hi MC

As a matter of fact, the concrete / cement blocks number and type must be determined by an Architect or Engineer based in several parameters
- Load of the wall
- Specs of the blocks
- Type of wall

Not all the concrete / cement blocks are manufactured with the same specifications--> the quantity of cement and the width will inform you about the type of block.
In addition, you must consider if you will add concrete / steel in the corners, lintels, etc

Let me know if you need additional help with this subject
