Hi michaelfoto, For most of the items, the order is not important in Punch. For example, you can draw the walls and add the piers after, but if you are using the automatic ceiling tool, you must create the walls first and the ceiling after I'd suggest to set the ceilings' heights first --. design --> Default ceiling heights--> this will help you to place the elements in the right elevation In order to place the piers under your current plan, your can select all the plan and modify the elevation--> Edit --> Select All --. Edit --> Set object elevation (or right click on the elevation slider - left of the screen) You can also move the entire plan to the upper floor --> Edit --> Select all--> Edit --> Move to Upper floor . Remember to set the ceiling heights first -- > in this case, the first floor height will be the piers' height Regarding the ceilings and walls--> you can change the walls' heights modifying it in the properties bar (press Enter after each modification). Selecting all the exterior walls, you can use the ceiling/floor automatic tool (bottom of the properties bar) Patricia |

A couple of other questions because I have not got that far into the plan yet.
Will the pier and beam details ever be visible in the 3D mode, and will the final material list contain the items used in the pier and beam part of the construction?
And is there a way to change the foundation material to wood instead of a standard concrete foundation?
It seems that the drawings that I have done so far to test the program always have what looks to be a solid concrete foundation instead of the pier and beam details.
I guess what I'm hoping to see along the way is something similar to a beach house that is built on stilts.
As I said above, I'm totally new to the home construction concept.

Hi michaelfoto, Regarding your questions The elements developed with the tools of the foundation tab (main program) are not visible in 3D. In addition, the piers are not included in the tools of the foundation tab. In order to develop the structural elements and customize materials, you should use the Framing Editor Power Tool. After this, the structural elements and materials will appear in the Estimator In this image, you can see a house on piers http://www.punchhelpers.com/logplace00.html Patricia |
