Hi johnleslie,
In your case, there are two possibilities
Possibility 1 - The texture going to the sky or the grass is a symptom of a video card problem. Try these steps
1 - Check the website of your video card manufacturer and update the drivers
2 - Go to the video setup on your PC (may be different for different versions of Windows and video card); for most, click on an empty part of the windows Desktop, click on Settings->Advanced->Troubleshoot). Back the accelerations slider to the left, one level each time and see if the problem dissapears
3 - Right click on the wallpaper (look for a place without icons)--> Properties--> Settings--> Advanced--> Open GL--> Compatibility Settings--> Force 16 bits--> Apply--> OK
4 - Set your video color depth at 24 or 32 bits ("true color")
5 - Go to
www.microsoft.com/directx, and see what version is current and check if you have this version installed in your computer
You will find several discussions about this in this forum--> perform a search with the words "sky + texture"
Possibility 2 - First, some concepts
- In Punch the 0.00 level is the grass level
- The pathways and ground fill region are just surfaces, they don't have a "thickness"
(See the image attached: you have a floor, a ground fill region and a pathway)
If you create a pathway (for example), by default, Punch will elevate it in order to separate it from the grass, and make it visible. Now, if you select it and set the elevation as 0.00, it will disappear--> because it must be over the grass to appear
But if you draw a floor and set the elevation as 0.00, it will appear, because the floor has thickness, and you can modify it
If you have an irregular topography and you create a pathway with several handles, you can float it above the topo, so each handle will float with a different elevation
Last and important point about this issue. If you have some elements overlapped. unless you set different elevations for the ground fill region / pathway / floor, you will see the diagonal lines in liveview and it will be almost impossible to apply the texture.
In order to narrow he problem, change the driveway elevation to 50"(for example) and try to apply the texture Let us know about the results
