For V7 versions or up, after you enter the windows or doors dimensions or a wall dimension or a pitch, or the floor thickness or any other modification in the properties bar you need to press the enter key in your keyboard after you write each value
To draw a simple slab, you don't need the walls, just use the floor tool in the floor tab
