Hi.... I have really enjoyed using the Layout Manager powertool in my AS4000. It is very helpful when creating a document that includes the floor plan and an elevation (picture) on the same sheet before printing to the plotter. Is this powertool included in ASv20?
I have both versions on my computer and now I am currently going between the two to get my plans done just for the Layout Manager powertool function. Is there a way to achieve this in ASv20? Thanks! Kay

Hi Kay,
The layout manager was a tool that was included with the old versions (up to AS 5000, in 2005). Then the programs' configurations were changed and 2D and 3D printing used different resources, therefore, they can't be together. So, nope, AS 20 doesn't include the layout manager.
A workaround => you can export the plan and elevation and set them together using a PDF program (some of them are free).
Hope this helps! |

Thanks for replying!
Yes...I have tried this method, but it is easier to just go back to AS4000 Layout Manager to get the image in the exact location on the sheet. I really wish it was included in ASv20!
I love both programs, so it is not a big inconvenience. Maybe in a future update (hint...hint...), someone could figure out how to make it work.

You're welcome!
In PDF, you can organize both images in the desired position if you set a larger paper size.
The problem of going back to AS 4000 is the fact that, once you save the file using V20 you can't go back to AS 4000
Good luck with your project! |
