I started work on house plans in Home Design Studio Pro version 12.0. Then I purchased Home Design Studio Essentials version 17.5.14, because it looked like it had more versatility. I was able to open my Pro file in Essentials, and now I need some Power Tools that are in Pro, and I can not open the file back up in Pro. How is this possible? Can I get the same Power Tools in Essentials that I have in Pro? Or perhaps I should ask how I get all the Power Tools available for Essentials.

Hi Donelle,

The Punch programs' version compatibility works following the ascendant version number. This means that the old files are compatible with the new versions but this doesn't work backwards.
Therefore, a file elaborated with Version 12 (for example) can be opened using version 17.5.14, but if you save the file using version 17.5.14 it will not open with Version 12.

The only solution is getting an upgrade => Current version is V19.

Hope this helps.
