Thanks to Patricia, I have sorted out my design issues and nearly have my house and garage modeled (just need to add the porches and sidewalks). My next step is to add dimensions (as required by my city) and a drawing border so I can make proper prints to submit for a variance request to my city. My lot is an odd pentagon shape and my house & garage are not orthogonal, which causes the Automatic Dimension feature to create odd dimensions. I found how to toggle that feature off but I cannot find how to generate my own dimensions. Any help is appreciated. Once I have it dimensioned, how do I add a direction indicator (North+arrow), drawing border & title block? Thank you in advance for your support! House+garage.JPG (65kb) downloaded 3 time(s).

You can use the length dimension tool (outlined in red in the image attached) and st the dimension using the desired angle (pointed with a blue arrow in the image attached) Originally Posted by: Gib Jr Once I have it dimensioned, how do I add a direction indicator (North+arrow) 2D Symbol Library => Technical Annotations. If you need ready to use sets of scaled sheets (title block and borders), my Collection #2 includes different 2D and 3D scaled sets with different papers sizes, etc. Using these sets, you can print the scaled plans directly to the desired paper size, PDF, etc. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the information! This functionality was not working on my very old version of v17. I upgraded to v20 and am now able to do the dimensions. My next task the title block (not found time to work on it lately).
