Just upgraded to v21. Been using the software for many years. I can apply material on simple models, but not more complex ones. I even tried one of the sample models that come with v21 and have the same problem. I can apply materials in Custom Workshop, but that does not help me for walls, etc. When I try to apply the material I get a spinning wheel for about 30 seconds, but nothing happens. Anyone else have this issue or just me.

Hi there,
This is a hardware issue. 1 - Go to => Edit => Preferences => System => Graphics => Hardware Acceleration. By default, the level of the accelerations is "Full" => Move the control to the center and see if your issue is solved. If not, move the control to the left (None) => check if your issue is solved. 2 - Always important => update the drivers of your video card.
Hope this helps. |

Okay, gave it a go. Tried disabling the hardware acceleration first, but still had the issue. Next updated the drivers (at least I think I did). Worked once on the sample model, but not my model. Went back to the sample model and now that doesn't work either. Also noticed that 2D not working right now - only using the bottom quadrant of the graphics area. Re-enabling Hardware Acceleration fixed that issue. Guess you answered my original question though, that it is something on my end and you (and I'm guessing most others) do not have this issue. Will fiddle with it more, but if no luck will just need to stick with v20 or get a new computer!

To solve this issue => If you are using a laptop in a docking station, remove it. Some computers have a USB dongle video cable. Could try it without the cable. Hope this helps. |
