Hello --

I'm a new user. I spoke with an "Ed" in Sales yesterday (June 28, 2022). On his recommendation, I purchased Punch! Home & Landscape Design Essentials v21 - Mac so that I could load in a front elevation picture of my home using PhotoView and plan out a new garden. This is ALL I want to do with the program: I've not interest whatsoever in planning an entire home. I JUST want to bring in a picture and plan a garden on top of it.

I immediately ran into issues with using PhotoView to help me plan a garden in front of our house, so wrote in to Support. Shahrukh from Support wrote me back overnight, but failed to answer my questions (they just provided information back to me that I already knew and had stated among the comments in my original note).

Are there any tutorials specifically on the use of PhotoView? Shahrukh did not provide me any, even though I had asked specifically for that.

Thanks for your help.

I saw that! Made me think I misread it when I saw the bad Subject line. Ha. Thanks for watching out for me.

Now, any ideas on some tutorials or vids specific to PhotoView? I don't see anything out there...

Hi there,

You can check the User's Guide - Page 462. This is a free resource.

In addition, if you are interested, my eBook for Punch V21 for Mac includes a full chapter about Photoview Power Tool, including how to process and mask the pictures.
In addition, on page 232, you will find the tutorial "How to insert a picture of the house and landscape it?"

Of course, I understand that you don't want to build the house, but in the eBook you will also find additional "how-to" chapters and tutorials that can be useful (walls, fences, objects, plants, etc).

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Pat. I had looked in on the guide from the help menu yesterday, but apparently didn't make it to anything beyond page 462 itself, which explains how to bring stuff in via PhotoView.

That said, some sort of video tutorial on the use of PhotoView would be a great help to those of us doing small garden projects like this. There's a lot of footage of how to manipulate the overall CAD design element of the software for creating floor plans and such, but almost nothing regarding building up a garden (or maybe I just missed it?...). In particular, I am finding it difficult to place plants and elements 'up' on a flat 2D pic, but I will figure it out. Eventually it will come through, but as stated, a video of such things would be cool (again, unless I missed it).

Thanks,

-shud
