Hi there, This is the first time I add stairs outside a building, and I encounter some difficulty to have its upper level at the same level as the floor. Walls under (ground floor) are 250 cm high, floor is 10 cm thick, so the stairs should terminate at 260, but if I do this, it breaks the structure. The pix below is with a 250 cm hign value: Any clues, anyone, please? Thank you.

Hi there, As this is a exterior staircase, the math is different. And, the important issue here is the elevation. Say the walls' heights and floors' thickness are as shown in this image Elevations.JPG (53kb) downloaded 2 time(s).In the interior, the stairs' height will be 260 cm and the elevation will be 10 cm (because they will be on the floor), but in the exterior, the elevation of the staircase will be 0 cm, therefore the height will be 270 cm. So, you will need to separate the structure of the building from the structure of the staircase. Hope this helps. |
